  • GRAPHIC DESIGN
  • Participants will be introduced to the design process through hands-on activities. They will have an opportunity to learn how to define an audience, craft and communicate a message, engage an audience through the use of type, image, and space, and ultimately work together as a team in a creative environment to complete the final project. Participants will have an opportunity to bring their ideas to life using our industry-standard software and hardware while exploring the principles of design, space, form, and color.

  • INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
  • From chairs and toothbrushes to scissors and road signs, industrial designers literally create the world around us. Gain an understanding of the conceptual design phase, 3D drafting software, and finally, the rigorous prototyping process that minimizes flaws in products brought into the market.

  • INTERIOR DESIGN
  • As members of an interior design team, participants will have an opportunity to design and build a creative space. Interior design is about creating an environment where form and function merge.

  • SET & EXHIBIT DESIGN
  • Engage in a design process based on observation, analysis of products, the study of ergonomic principles, and the creation of visual studies. In this course, you will develop as a designer while learning to express a personal vision. You will be guided from the final stages of the design concept within the exhibit space, through the design process, and onto the completion of the final project model.

  • DIGITAL FILMMAKING & VIDEO PRODUCTION
  • In this intensive Summer Studio workshop, students will learn to shoot, edit, and post a video to a website of their choice. Students will have an opportunity to cover basic video production skills, conceptual storytelling skills, Final Cut Pro editing skills, and web video streaming skills. Each student should come prepared to create a personal bio piece about him/herself or someone of interest who will consent to participating in the project.

  • DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
  • Learn to show the world what you see through your lens, and gain an understanding of photography’s impact on the world as a whole. First, you’ll have an opportunity to learn basic techniques from studying the great photographers and discovering how they achieved the results they did. Then, you’ll head out to get those great shots on your own. This workshop will leave you with a sampling of skills to better capture the world around you.

  • GAME ART & DESIGN/MEDIA ARTS & ANIMATION
  • Participants will be introduced to the game, animation, and media arts industries. The artist creates backgrounds, characters, and other graphics to make the game visually appealing and exciting while the technical programmer creates programs/scripts to enable the various movements and interactions of characters and objects. In this workshop, you will be introduced to the exciting world of game programming!
