Complete the Summer Studio application by clicking the "Sign Up" button at the top. Complete the Step 1: RSVP NOW form. Once step 1 is complete, you may either pay the $125 tuition (for non-housing students) or $350 tuition (for housing students) to secure your spot. You'll be asked to select the workshop of your choice and note if you would like workshop housing or not. If you prefer to pay through the mail or by phone, please feel free to call us at 800.833.2678 for more information.

Your ideas can go anywhere. Gain a fundamental understanding of the software and techniques used by designers all over the world to create the graphics, brands, and imagery we recognize and interact with daily. This workshop will introduce you to a world that often goes unrecognized — but never unnoticed.

• Interior Design and Drafting Technology & Design

Join us for a four-day workshop that introduces you to this world of sustainability, functionality, and aesthetics. Learn from industry speakers, take a tour of a local design firm, and work with your fellow attendees to create interior spaces that make an impact.

• Audio Production and Digital Filmmaking & Video Production

Does sound speak to you? When your friends hear, do you feel? Even if you can't explain it, explore your connection to sound this summer in our Audio Production workshop. You'll be introduced to the fundamentals of audio production using many of the same tools the pros use. And when you're done, you have a solid foundation in the awesome science of sound.

• Digital Photography

Learn to show the world what you see through your lens, and gain an understanding of photography's impact on the world as a whole. First, learn the basics of photography equipment, lighting, and composition that will get you ready to get out there on your first assignment as one of our Summer Studio photographers. You'll learn the business of photography with a field trip to a top Las Vegas studio.

• Media Arts & Animation and Game Art & Design

Join a team of fellow animators to conceptualize and render your way to success at Summer Studio by creating three-dimensional models that bring virtual worlds to life. You'll enjoy the expertise of local animators and game artists in an off-site field trip and see your work showcased larger than life at the Summer Studio finale.

• Visual Effects & Motion Graphics

Discover the world of digital video production through the lens of actual filmmakers. Our faculty will guide you through pre-production planning, execution, and the post process of editing, special effects, and mastering. You'll leave this fast-paced workshop with an understanding of how ideas transform into the films you know and love.

• Web Design & Interactive Media

This workshop is designed to give you an understanding of just how unique designing interactive web experiences can be. You'll be introduced to the same tools the pros use while combining an aesthetic eye with the ever-expanding power of the web. This workshop is designed to provide you with a greater knowledge of how your ideas can come to life and what it takes to bring them there.

• Fashion & Retail Management

Our four-day workshops cover the world of retail fashion led by industry professionals. Take part in lectures, learn the art of styling, visit top retail stores and fashion boutiques, and learn the tools of the trade. Summer Studio gives you a taste of what we have to offer our students and a chance to see if a creative education in fashion is right for you. See what you can make in a collaborative environment when everything comes together.

• Baking & Pastry

Part chemist, part artist, and always cool under pressure, the pastry chef is a vital and respected member of any good kitchen; the Baking & Pastry workshop is designed to teach you why. Gain an understanding of just how much goes into the crafting of sumptuous breads, pastries, and cakes. You'll leave this workshop with techniques and recipes to keep your inner-chef occupied for some time to come.

• Culinary Arts and Culinary Management

Join a team of fellow high school students as you start with the basics of cooking and work your way up to preparing menus and cuisines that delight your future customers. You'll have an opportunity to advance your talents as you explore some of the culinary delights a city like Las Vegas has to offer.

All workshops are non-credit bearing and do not transfer into any programs offered at The Art Institute of Las Vegas.

Refund Policy

The $50 (for non-housing students) or $100 (for housing students) administrative fee is non-refundable. Remaining tuition and housing fees are fully refundable until Monday, June 11, 2012. After this date, all fees are non-refundable regardless of early cancellation or departure from the workshops.
