  • INTERIOR DESIGN
  • This four-day workshop helps familiarize students with the overall Interior Design industry by focusing on the importance of designing for space and junction. Interior design is not just repurposing old items; a true interior designer understands the space and its function. Students will work closely with faculty to develop ideas and create a 3D space while honing their skills in sketching, rendering, model building and floor plan generation.

  • PHOTOGRAPHY
  • What makes a good photograph? In this fun, hands-on workshop students will learn about perspective and how to produce a good photograph. Additionally, they will learn to manipulate and improve images using Photoshop.

  • INTERACTIVE MEDIA
  • Advertising, Graphic Design, and Web Design & Interactive Media Design students will gain an understanding of the process for producing web marketing in today’s multimedia environment. They will begin with creating a concept, then formalize a strategy and implement it online. Students will be challenged to write copy, design a campaign, and produce for the web.

  • DIGITAL FILMMAKING & VIDEO PRODUCTION
  • Few people outside of the film industry realize what an important role editing plays in the creation of a motion picture. An editor can invigorate a story, change its tone, or even develop a new plot. In the Summer Studio Film & Digital Production editing course, we’ll introduce students to the fundamental editing techniques that can determine whether a film succeeds or fails. Students will also become familiar with professional industry software, Final Cut Pro, postproduction techniques, compositing, and title creation.

  • FASHION
  • An overview of the world of fashion will be presented to students, along with an overview of the offerings and opportunities provided by Miami International University of Art & Design. The four-day workshop will have several days of instruction including a Fashion Design Day where students will be challenged to compete with other students by taking their idea of a design into a garment, a Fashion Merchandising Day where students will work on a professional photo shoot with models and a professional photographer, and an Accessory Design Day allowing students to create an accessory as part of the competition for the week. This workshop will give students a realistic view of what it truly takes to compete in the fashion industry.

PLEASE NOTE: Workshops are subject to change. All activities are fully structured and supervised. Mature and respectful behavior is expected at all times. All workshops are non-credit bearing and do not transfer into any program offered at Miami International University of Art & Design.

Refund Policy

The $50.00 deposit is non-refundable. Tuition and housing fees are fully refundable until Monday, June 11, 2012. After this date, all fees are non-refundable regardless of early cancellation or departure from the workshops.
