Whether you are into design, technology, fashion or cooking, we take talented individuals like you and help them turn their imagination, excitement, and creative energy into something awesome.

Complete the Summer Studio application by clicking the "Sign Up" button at the top. At this point, you may either pay the $50 (non-refundable) deposit to secure your spot or your full tuition. You’ll be asked to select the workshop of your choice and note if you would like workshop housing or not. REALIZE YOUR POTENTIAL Our five-day creative workshops put you in a hands-on, collaborative environment learning new skills and creating an awesome final project under the artistic and technical guidance of our industry-savvy instructors.

Summer Studio will be available to 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 high school graduates, Summer Studio is the perfect way to find out if you are cut out for a creative higher education. This summer, bring us your energy and passion so we can help you discover how you can Create Tomorrow.

During HOLLYWOOD COMES TO ORANGE COUNTY at The Art Institute of California — Orange County, all participating students will be part of a simulated "Academy Awards Ceremony" in which classic Hollywood films and characters are celebrated with a variety of individual student projects (all students who attend with get a fully packaged DVD which includes all student work created throughout the week):

  • ADVERTISING
  • Student will create a multimedia campaign for the week-ending "Oscar" ceremony.

  • GRAPHIC DESIGN
  • Student will create a printed program booklet for the closing ceremony in addition to artwork used for the student DVDs.

  • INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
  • Student will design and manufacture an "Oscar" element to be given to the student winners of the ending ceremony.

  • INTERIOR DESIGN
  • Student will design and create a set piece from a notable film for our "Oscar" ceremony at the end of the week.

  • VISUAL EFFECTS & MOTION GRAPHICS
  • Student will create special animated effects for inclusion in the various film projects.

  • DIGITAL FILMMAKING & VIDEO PRODUCTION
  • Student will create a montage of images and moments from classic Hollywood films plus recreations of their favorite film of choice.

  • DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
  • Student will take both posed and behind-the-scenes pictures of the week's events including the closing ceremony, plus photos used in the DVD of student work.

  • GAME ART & DESIGN / VISUAL & GAME PROGRAMMING
  • Student will create game elements and characters reflective of notable Hollywood creations.

  • MEDIA ARTS & ANIMATION
  • Student will re-create notable animated film characters and settings.

  • WEB DESIGN & INTERACTIVE MEDIA
  • Students will design a homepage and several subpages for a website that celebrates our "Oscar Night".

  • FASHION DESIGN / FASHION MARKETING & MANAGEMENT
  • Student will design and create clothing items for a "Red Carpet Walk" for the closing ceremony.

  • CULINARY ARTS
  • Student will cater the full "Oscar" ceremony with exotic cuisine.

Please note: Workshops are subject to change. All activities are fully structured and supervised. Mature and respectful behavior is expected at all times.

All workshops are non-credit bearing and do not transfer into any program offered at The Art Institute of California — Orange County.

Refund Policy

The $50.00 administrative fee is non-refundable. Tuition and housing fees are fully refundable until June 8, 2012. After this date, all fees are non-refundable, regardless of early cancellation or departure from the workshops.
